Perhaps you are thinking I am going to suggest that you get out and vote, run for some type of office or start a non-profit with a lofty mission. I am not. I am talking about really changing the world, your world.
World is a word used to describe the collective, compilation of people, nations and cultures on the planet. The world is about people. If you want to make a change, you don't need lots of money, a PR team, budget, assistants and newspaper headlines. All you need is a generous heart and a warm smile. Changing the world is about changing your attitude toward people.
How can you change the world? See the glorious good in everyone. Tip a little bit more generously than you want to, especially for bad service. That extra $1, $2 or $5 may be just enough to give someone hope who has lost it. Be kind to everyone, for they are all fighting their own battle. Make eye contact and offer a smile to everyone in your 10-foot radius. Ask people how they are doing and then take the time to listen sincerely. Ask people what they do for fun and when they are stumped, remind them that life is short and fun is fun. Let someone go in front of you in line and simply tell them that you are not in a hurry. See the opportunity in loss. Find gratitude for all that you have and all that you do not have. Stop embellishing your life and start speaking your truth.
Changing the world is about connecting with people and offering hope. You just never know when a warm smile can turn around someone's day, week, month or year. Each time a real connection is made, a spark of hope is ignited in both hearts. It is these sparks that pull together to light up the world. Trust that although your efforts may be difficult to measure, they have the weight to shift the consciousness of the planet.
Want to change the world? Go make some one's day and then do it again and again. Smile and Shine. Open your heart and connect to every other heart. You don't need a billboard or a campaign to make this a better world. Being Happy Healthy and Fit means knowing that steady and consistent small change adds up to Big Change. Life is Short. Make yours Magical!
