The Law of Attraction clearly states that energy attracts to itself other energy with which it's in vibrational resonance with. Like attracts like. Love attracts love.

In the past few years, the release of the movie The Secret, brought attention to this ancient law. The Truth is the universal law of attraction dates back to the beginning of humanity. More importantly, what is 'vibrational resonance' and how can this be applied to create an amazing life?

The best way to understand a universal law is to test and challenge it. Only then will you have indisputable evidence. Several years ago, vision boards were widely talked about as a means to attracting into your life what you wish to have. This isn't a new concept. As a child, I remember my grandmother placing pictures of a thin model on the refrigerator, held up by a magnet that said 'Think Thin.' Later, I recall reading about the divorce of Andre Agassi and Brooke Shields. Apparently, throughout their marriage, Agassi always kept a picture of Steffi Graf on the refrigerator. He would later marry her. This is the power of vision.

Nearly two years ago, I sat down with one of my closest friends to create vision boards. We shared books, thoughts, dreams and secrets. It was time to create the lives we wanted. Together we had poster board, glue sticks and over 50 magazines from which to cut out and create our perfect lives. Shockingly, after an hour, I had nothing. Beautiful cars, homes, people, jewelry and businesses were abundantly spread over my dining room table. Nothing resonated with me. My subconscious didn't desire any of those things. It was undeniable. It would take me until today, to recognize that at a soul level, I wanted a clean slate. The poster board went back into the closet, the magazines in the trash. For nearly two years, I believed I was lacking in vision. Really, I just needed to clean up my life and make room for what I really did desire.

Today, as I bring my vision board project to fruition, it is perfectly clear. Pictures, sayings and quotes abundantly project Love, Peace, Harmony, Joy, Magic, Friendship, Adventure, Magnificence, Nature and Happiness. Often times, we must get clear on what we don't want before we can clearly See and Be what we do.

Once you can See it, you can Be it. Begin to Be it and you will actually See it. That is the Law of Attraction in action. Be is the beginning of BEliefs and beliefs are energy that create thoughts. Know that the brain is the most powerful electromagnetic processing tool ever created.

Enjoy the Merry-Go-Round: Magic Carousel Brings Peace to the Heart

Learning to appreciate the Merry-Go-Round is the magic formula for Happiness.

Although roller coasters provide great thrills, the lines are very long and the excitement is short lived. It is easy to be attracted to roller coasters. They provide excitement outside ourselves, but the downside is we are out of control. Learning to find contentment in our daily lives is the pathway to happiness. It's nice to enjoy the peaceful ups and downs of the magic carousel of life.

As I sit quietly on a Saturday morning enjoying a cup of coffee and watching out the window as the wind creates a rustle through the trees, I reflect on the great wisdom of the Merry-Go-Round. In this moment of peace, I can see beautiful wildflowers, hear the sound of my fountain close by and the sounds of chirping birds in the distance. There is no reason to rush anywhere. Everything is perfect.

On the Merry-Go-Round, we see the same things over and over and enjoy the amazing miracles, we notice new things and appreciate them more each time we pass by. Of course, it is natural to seek the thrill of the roller coaster: the unexpected jarring about, but the external great highs always bring internal great lows.

Rarely do you find a long line to ride the magic carousel. It has a bad reputation as being boring. However, when you can find appreciation and enthusiasm for seeing the same things over and over again in a new light, you will will know peace in your heart. You will know fulfillment and lasting relationships.

Being Happy Healthy and Fit means bringing excitement and enthusiasm to your daily living. Even more precious than thrills is peace in your heart. There is no one in line in front of you. Simply shift your consciousness from outside to inside and ride the magic carousel all day, everyday.

Dare to Get Naked and Skinny Dip Through Life!

Getting naked means the willingness to remove all inhibitions. Everyone wants to go skinny-dipping, but no one wants to be the first one to take all of her clothes off. If you want to experience true intimacy, you must be willing to get naked and be vulnerable. You must be willing to shed layers to experience deep connection with others.

Making real friends is like going skinny-dipping. It’s a little scary at first to take off your clothes, also known as, speaking the truth. As soon as someone dares to get naked, the rest will follow. Away go inhibitions. The fun has begun.

Of course, I am speaking in metaphors, but stay with me. Getting naked means showing up without your ego and endless exaggerations also known as lies.

Over the past year, I have I made the best friends in the world. I turned my own walls into doors and then into windows and then decided I didn’t really need any of those forms of protection. I did the unthinkable. I started to tell the truth. Instead of speaking about my seemingly perfect existence, loving relationship, thriving business, fun weekend plans and overall great life, I began to question everything out loud. This is how I got naked.

My seemingly perfect life was completely unfulfilling and a bunch of lies. In fact, sometimes it seemed I was going through someone else’s life. When I began to share my stories with strangers, they quickly became friends. Our deep sadness and sorrows turned into laughter and tomorrows. When I left no subject untouched, it opened the door for my soon to be friends to share their own insecurities. We connected and healed through pain.

Last month, I decided to host a Girl Friend Blend and invite those few women, who had really touched my heart in the past year, the ones who I had stood naked in front of. I was shocked when my list instantly grew to 20. Just a year before, I could barely find anyone to have dinner with.

My whole, life my mother wished for me to have girlfriends. I just didn’t know how. Growing up in a family where everything is a secret makes it difficult to experience real connection. Secrets mean shame. Naked means telling the truth and living shamelessly. You will be amazed what happens when you shed your layers and start skinny-dipping through life. Learn to laugh at yourself. Laugh out loud and laugh with others. Laughing is fun and contagious. Cyndi Lauper put it best, “Girls just wanna have fun. “

Decisions Open Doors to Vast New Worlds

Decide. Ignite. Recharge. Take Flight!

The word decision is derived from the Latin word meaning to cutoff. We often use the word 'powerful' to describe decision. For example, when we make the seemingly more difficult choice, it is considered making a powerful decision. Upon further reflection, this is usually used to describe the decision to leave a bad relationship, a steady job or stagnant, but steady situation.

The Truth is any decision is a powerful decision. The decision to make changes open doors to vast new worlds, thereby cutting off the things that no longer serve you. The decision to remain in fear may seem more comfortable at the time, but in turn it closes or cuts off the portals to vast new worlds. Either decision is powerful: cutting off limited beliefs or cutting off unlimited beliefs. You decide.

When my friends Kim and Jeff invited me to join them for a week in Colorado, my initial decision was not to go. I decided this by not deciding. Not deciding is a free ticket to stay exactly where you are, cutting off possibilities. My decision was based on fear. I had just been denied health insurance coverage, my projects were up in the air and my part time job needed me. Then, something powerful happened. I decided to go to Colorado.

Decide. Ignite. Recharge. Take Flight. In this moment, I am confident that Colorado was the highest and best choice. From staying in a magnificent home on top of a lush mountain, to morning saunas, to hiking meadows, climbing snowy peaks, riding horses through endless wildflowers, bike riding along the rushing river, eating delicious meals and laughing for days on end, my spirit has been ignited. I decided to fall in love with life.

In the spirit of love, all things are possible. Being Happy Healthy and Fit means knowing all decisions are powerful. Have the courage to cut off the limited beliefs that suspend you and decide to take flight! Leave fear on the threshold and Open Doors to Vast New Worlds.

Great Conversation leaves Robotics to the Robots

Yesterday I stumbled upon the editor's letter in my most recent copy of Inc. The Magazine for Growing Companies. The theme caught my eye: Where Stories Come From. I love stories

Editor Jane Berentson went on to explain that Inc. receives hundreds of pitches from companies every week. Many containing promotions and product launches. Many ending up deleted from her in box. She didn't call them boring, but I felt bored. Her message was not to say that they aren't interesting, but to lead into the idea that most interesting stories and connections are made through great conversation.

This led me to realize how true this is in life, love and business. Great conversations lead to great relationships. Sending hundreds of blind pitches in business is the equivalent of joining online dating services and emailing a generic letter in hopes of making a real heart connection or circling the bar with some lame pick up line and throwing it blindly out to anyone of the opposite sex.

Her letter actually inspired me to write her a response. Leave the robotics to the robots. The cover story this month came out of a "collection of of very personal reflections and confessions about the joys, fears, insecurities, and triumphs of entrepreneurship."

If you want to make real connections and experience meaningful relationships dare to do something different. Dare to take the walls down, put your robotic ego away and be done with generic, boring conversation. Dare to show up with your heart full of joys and fears. Real connections result from real conversations. Leave the small talk to the robots.

Headed to Heaven in the Spirit of Love

Most people miss heaven by 18 inches.

Although 'Yes' isn't always the right answer, it sure does open minds, hearts and doors. If you are a regular Happy Healthy and Fit reader, you know that answering 'Yes' last weekend led me to a fun day of water slides. Yes also led me to a morning church service.

I must confess, I have not been to a church service in years. I have been to visit many amazing and wonderful churches around the globe including the great ones in the holy lands of Israel and Italy. I study spirituality religiously, but haven't been attracted to organized religion since I got in trouble for wearing jeans to Sunday school at the ripe age of 5. So much for open minds and hearts.

Pastor Travis himself was wearing jeans so I was open when he shared a couple of golden nuggets. One was that when polled, 90% of people said they would attend a church service if they had been invited. Another was that most people miss heaven by 18 inches, the distance between head and heart. These are both so true. I bet 90% of people would say Yes if they were invited anywhere as long as there is alignment between head and heart also known as being in-spirit or in the spirit of Love.

When I woke up this morning, I knew that I almost missed heaven. I had been invited to Vail, Colorado for fun times, adventure and relaxation. I said No, by saying nothing. With less than 48 hours to scheduled departure, I stretched 18 inches from heart to head and then another 18 inches to the Free Buddy Pass that has been sitting on my desk waiting to expire the day after we return.

The only thing holding us back ever is Fear. Fear can be eliminated by stretching 18 inches. Connect your heart to your head and practice saying Yes. If you don't hear from me for a while, fear not! I will be with dear friends peacefully enjoying heaven, also known as climbing 14,000 mountains, horseback riding, enjoying cool streams of water, chilly nights and tons of fun.

Stuck between a Rock and a Hard Place? Grow!

Nature is a fascinating and inspiring teacher. After spending a great deal of time hiking over the past year, I have observed that each season showcases a life cycle revealing something new and poignant. Nature represents Truth.

Nature doesn't think. It doesn't poll friends and create stories. Innately, nature knows that it gets two choices. Grow or die. Maintain is temporary. Nature does not make excuses. It pushes through. If the acorn didn't break free of its shell, there would be no oak tree.

Today's teacher is the Ragged Rock Flower. This species actually grows out of the cracks and crevices of rocks. Next time you find yourself in between a rock and a hard space, do as the Ragged Rock Flower does. Grow! This plant is known to be wildly beautiful and fragrant.

Your rocks are simply those obstacles that appear to be in your way: pain, suffering, beliefs, programming, old stories, doubts, fear, worry, judgment, chaos. It really is as simple as changing your beliefs. Next time you find yourself between a rock and hard place, all you have to do is draw inspiration from the Ragged Rock Flower and Grow! Grow! Grow!

Being Happy Healthy and Fit means finding those tiny cracks of Light inside your darkness and moving toward them until your own beauty and purpose become unstoppable. Get unstuck and then be that crack of Light for someone else.

Yes+$6 = Time Travel to 6 Years Old

When I got a text at 12:30 this afternoon inviting me to join my neighbor and her boyfriend's two children down the street at the aquatic center in 45 minutes, my first instinct was to ignore it completely. Nothing about the public pool and a thousand children running around really appealed to me.

After a moment of quiet, I thought, maybe this isn't really about me and somehow my fingers text back something like 'sounds great, thanks for the invitation, see you there!'

I recalled a message I had recently received from the The Universe stating:

Discretion, dear Randi, is the better part of valor.

Spontaneity is the better part of brilliance.

And imagination is the better part of making dreams come true.

The Universe

After paying my $6, I came around the corner and saw my friend. She introduced me to the two girls, who are 8 and 11. They smiled so big and hugged me like I was their aunt. I knew I made the right choice. They were pure Love. Later, I would learn that she was watching them, because their Dad had undergone emergency surgery. I was so glad to be a part of their distraction.

Within moments, gone were my thoughts of bacteria and disgustingness about the City pool. We were in the lazy river bumping into each other and laughing hysterically. As we stuck to our rafts and pushed one another under the dumping buckets of cold water, I realized, I had drifted back to being a totally uninhibited 6 year old. As my bikini was pulled about in every direction, I could have cared less. Soon we were racing up the water slide stairs again and again.

The last time I was at a city pool, I was 6. It was the Park Ridge pool in Park Ridge, New Jersey. It hardly had water slides and a lazy river, but it was a happy, gathering place. Funny thing, my neighbor is from New Jersey. I am quite certain we both traveled back in time today. Next time you want to say 'No' just say 'Yes' you may just have the time of your life and make someone else's day too. When I left the park I passed a license plate. Just like the earlier message from the Universe indicated, it read: POSIBLT

I truly experienced Bliss today. Just for fun, I clocked the milage. Exactly 0.8 miles and I drive by everyday. Open your eyes and heart to the possibilities. Bliss is closer than you may think. Let your imagination take you back in time. Being Happy Healthy and Fit means saying YES instead of NO and Go Go Go!

Clutter sucks the life from us. It suffocates and buries us. It truly keeps us anchored to our past.

Learning to let go of things that no longer serve us begins on a physical level. It truly starts by learning to let go of things in the material world. Clothes, books, furniture, jewelry, sheets, towels, gifts and the like carry energy. As we hold onto these things, we hold onto their energy.

In our minds, we tend to be delusional about the real value of things. My Dad has so eloquently reminded me that 'things' are truly only worth what someone else is willing to pay you for them. It doesn't matter what you spent on something, if it no longer brings you great joy, perhaps it is time to let it go. It may be Costing you deeply on a soul level.

Letting go of material possessions creates tremendous space in your closets, cupboards, garage and life. Ultimately, letting go of things connected to painful memories allows you to begin to heal. Like painting, drawing, singing, dancing or making music, you must get started somewhere. Do not judge when you can only let go of a small bag full of things. Letting go takes practice. Practice makes perfect. Soon you will wonder why you were hanging on for so long.

Take a trip to GoodWill. Give away your baggage. Set yourself free. It isn't about what you paid for something, it is about what it is costing you to hold onto it. It is taking up space in your heart and not paying any returns. When you let go of what holds you back, you will discover what moves you forward. That is Free Will. The Freedom to Choose Happiness.

Replace Rocks with Gold: Accept Less. Expect More.

Learn to Accept less of what you don't desire and Expect more of what you do desire.

Having the greatest friends in the world is the most amazing gift that keeps giving and sometimes even brings additional gifts. I will share the gift of Peter.

Peter came to me via text message. My girlfriend was very excited about the prospect of setting me up on a blind date with a tall, good looking, athletic, funny and successful man from Chicago.

He called and left a long rambling message. He called back an hour later and left another. Then sent a text message. I was a little uneasy with the impatient aggressive nature, but stayed open. When we connected the next day by phone he had us married and co-authoring books. By morning he was texting me "Hey sexy!" and referring to me as "Babe."

Don't get me wrong, terms of endearment are lovely when they are golden. Who wouldn't want to be called 'sexy' and 'babe' by someone they share an intimate relationship with. Call me old-fashioined, but I never met Peter and he never even saw my picture.

The clincher was the text asking me if I had ever been to Rock Bottom? Although, I think he was referring to the brewhouse restaurant that is actually out of business, I couldn't help wondering if he meant going on a date with someone who was trying to tell me I am feisty, funny and full of life by referring to be as being 'full of piss and vinegar.'

I decided to listen to my inner voice and follow my heart. I'm certain that I have already been to 'rock bottom' and had no interest in returning. There is an expression that says: If our hands are full holding rocks, we have no room for gold. We must be willing to put down the rocks to create the space for the gold.

I am sure that Peter is a wonderful man- for someone else. As for me, I am going for gold. I am grateful for the gift of Peter to remind me to Accept less of what I don't desire and Expect more of what I do desire.

In life, love, business, jobs and relationships, it is fear or scarcity-based thinking that keeps you entangled in what you don't want. When you stop accepting what you don't want and start expecting more, miraculous things occur.

What's Your Story? Make it Great!

Stories are very powerful. They carry great energy. We learn and teach by telling stories. Even the Great Books are a compilation of stories. The more we hear and tell them, the more we fuel and believe them. Notice the stories you are telling to yourself and about yourself today. Are you a victim or a warrior? It's your story. Make it a great one!

Last week, I was so elated to see my friend at yoga. When I get to experience something I love with someone I love, I feel rich beyond measure. When her credit card declined on a package of classes, it was an opportunity almost lost. Without hesitation, I pulled mine out. She looked at me stunned and then said, "Wow, I cannot believe I am taking money from the single girl working five jobs."

I am not sure what happened in the next moment, but my mouth just opened and truly perplexed I told her I have no idea what she is talking about. That is not me. Although, that may be her perception and maybe even a story I was telling just two months earlier, that story is not my story. It was the most refreshing feeling. I realized that I wasn't defending myself, I was just casting light and bringing clarity to the truth.

It made me laugh as I realized that I actually did believe that story at one time. Then I put pen to paper and wrote a new one. A great story doesn't end with a victim. It is about triumph and victory. It is about rising and falling and rising again. It is about heroism and helpful people. It is about being a warrior and overcoming adversity. A great story wouldn't be a great story if there weren't highs and lows requiring acts of courage and moments of near hopelessness.

It's your story. Maybe it's time to change it. Stop telling the one of broken relationships, bad upbringings, mean bosses, disorderly children, boredom, overweight, two-faced friends, etc. A great story has a warrior of some sort. That warrior is you.

A warrior is one who has truly mastered self. Learn to hold yourself accountable, become less reactive and respond from a calm, peaceful center. When we stop pointing the finger of blame and have the courage to face our lives as they are, we will find the strength to create the lives of our dreams.

Go Green! Attract Love and Money!

A recent Heart Chakra meditation reminded me that Green is the color of Love. Green is the color of the heart chakra. Green is also the color of money. Love and Money are both energy.

With green on my mind, I started to notice it everywhere. However, one does not expect to see much in terms of green plant life when hiking through the deserts of Phoenix in the summer. Temperatures have already peaked at 117 degrees. You can imagine my surprise when I noticed a bright green plant flourishing against the backdrop of the dusty brown mountainside. It actually stopped me in my tracks. That plant has heart. It was pure love.

It would be perfectly acceptable and understandable for it to be in a dormant cycle like every other plant. After all, it is known that environments have a way of consuming and transforming people, plants, animals and energy. It takes great strength, determination and heart to resist being consumed.

The green really jumped out. The heart chakra is the energy that governs the area of the body that relates to relationships and interpersonal interactions. A balanced, peaceful heart allows for expression, freedom and growth.

Green symbolizes harmony, creativity, health, abundance and nature. Substitute the word love and you can find lots of statistics that indicate loves inspires harmony, creativity, health, abundance and an attraction to nature. Green is the combination of yellow, the color of the soul and blue, the color of the spirit. Green or Love offers new energy.

Against all odds, this plant dared to show up. Are you willing to just give the bare minimum like everyone else or are you willing to throw your heart into every endeavor fearlessly and show up where ever you go? It takes great courage to show up with your heart out, but it is the only way to stand out. Want more love, more money, more energy? Dare to apply the wisdom of Norman Vincent Peale and show up in every relationship and situation with your heart blazing!

BE the Help Around the Corner

A call to 911, comforting words and a cold towel didn't make me a hero; they made me a human.

When I set out to hike Pinnacle Peak logically it was the wrong choice. Temperatures were rising, it is farther away and it was getting later while my to do list was piling up. Yet, I was still drawn there.

Almost 1/2 mile in a running woman came to a screeching halt asking for a cell phone. She was trying to explain that a hiker a was down. I dialed 911 and gave her my phone. Listening closely, I could hear that it was an elderly man that was laying in the shade and couldn't make it down. He didn't have a phone and there was a cane near by.

Pinnacle Peak is not exactly a walk in the park. I used to take prospective boyfriends there just to gauge toughness. As I approached the 3/4 mile marker, I could see a heap of bones. There was an elderly man lying helpless. He appeared to be dead until I saw his eyes. He was every bit of 80, with the most youthful, loving eyes. I gently let him know that help was on the way. He smiled the biggest smile and said that he left an hour later than usual and just couldn't go on. I had a hand towel and a Camelback full of cold water. I pulled it out, soaked the towel and laid it on his head. He smiled and in the most loving way asked if we should call his wife.

I could see the paramedics pull in at the bottom of the mountain and let him know he would be home soon.

Helping others when they fall down has nothing to do with being a hero. It has everything to do with being a human. That is someone's child, perhaps father, grandfather and maybe even great grandfather. He is someone's friend, neighbor and husband. We cannot always be there to pick up the one's we love when they fall down, but we can certainly expand our love to pick up someone else's loved ones when they fall down.

We all fall sometimes. Find a way to be a little extra human today. Being Happy Healthy and Fit means Being the Help Around the Corner.

Let Your Heart Out and Play!

Protecting your heart is shortchanging its potential.

Your heart is like a new toy in a box. It has the potential to bring so much fun, joy and shared experiences. Sadly, so often you can find hearts closely guarded in tightly sealed packages.

Leaving a ball, doll or action figure in its original package, because someone told you it would be really valuable later is to deny it the opportunity to deliver all of the potential joy it has packed inside. Fearing that the toy will get scratched or broken and not be as valuable later is a common feeling. It is better to simply know that when you take your toy out and share it with others, it is going to transform and transform the relationship of all who come to play.

This is so true of the heart. Dare to show up with your heart in all of your relationships. Bring it exposed to your personal relationships, friendships, work, volunteering and daily activities. Protecting your heart is an illusion. To protect your heart is to deny it all the potential of giving and receiving love. That toy in its original package might be of some value to a certain collector 25 years down the road when it becomes an antique. However, how much will it really be worth? And how much will it have cost you in the way of happiness and love?

A toy that has been well used and well loved carries that energy in it. It no longer has a monetary value. It has become priceless. The same is true of a heart that has been scratched, bruised and broken. Allow your greatest asset to become priceless. Let your heart out and play!
